Thoughts from the Clinic

"The following posts are reflections from my experience caring for patients. They are not intended to replace medical advice, but to share some of the ideas that shape how I approach care."

Introduction

Every patient teaches me something.

Sometimes it's about physiology or emerging research. More often, it's about the realities of living with chronic illness, navigating fertility challenges, balancing health with motherhood, or trying to make meaningful lifestyle changes while juggling work, family, and everyday life.

Over time, those experiences have shaped the way I practice naturopathic medicine.

In these reflections, I will explore topics such as:

  • Why the best treatment plan isn't always the most complicated one.

  • The challenges busy parents face when trying to improve their health.

  • Evidence-informed functional medicine.

  • Supporting women through fertility and hormonal health.

  • Caring for people with chronic illness.

  • The importance of listening before recommending.

  • What I'm learning from the patients I have the privilege to care for.

These articles aren't meant to have all the answers. They're meant to encourage thoughtful conversations about what good healthcare can look like.

I hope they help you better understand not only what I do, but how I think.
